The Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers was established in 1990 and chartered by Act 105 of 1992. Prior to the granting of the Charter, the Institute was known as The Nigerian Institute of Stockbrokers, a company limited by guarantee.The Institute is the professional body statutorily responsible for regulating the practice of stockbroking in Nigeria.
The Registrar, Mr Oluwatoyin A. Olorunleke is the Chief Executive of the Institute who is responsible for the day to day running. He reports directly to the Governing Council
