CIS has been admitted as a contracting member of the Association of Certified International Investment Analysts (ACIIA) based in Switzerland. The Association of Certified International Investment Analysts (ACIIA) was established in 2000. Since its establishment, ACIIA membership has grown from 9 to 29 associations worldwide supporting the Certified International Investment Analyst CIIA diploma. The members are spread throughout Asia, Europe, South America, the Middle East and Africa, and encompass a wide variety of languages, cultures, and business customs. ACIIA is the international umbrella organisation for national and regional associations of investment professionals representing over 50,000 portfolio managers, analysts, investment advisers, asset managers and fund managers etc worldwide. Its role is to provide a flexible, internationally recognised qualification - Certified International Investment Analyst CIIA - which examines candidates at a high standard and in a practical fashion in the global and local topic areas that are necessary to pursue a career in the investment profession. Certified International Investment Analyst CIIA ® is an internationally recognised advanced professional qualification for individuals working in the finance and investment industry. Increasing globalisation of investment markets mean the world's key financial institutions are integrating their operations across the major financial centres of the world. With CIIA qualification, our graduates will become mobile professionals with qualifications that will enable them to work in any international financial centre. Exams To be awarded the CIIA ® , candidates must pass two levels of common knowledge exams and a national / regional exam, and have 3 years experience working in the domain of financial analysis, portfolio management, and / or investment in general. The common knowledge exams are divided into two levels - the Foundation and Final Level. Examined are essential skills and knowledge required for professionals working in investment markets common in all countries. The national / regional exam is set by individual national / regional societies and examines knowledge of specific markets. Covered are the legal, regulation, taxation, local market practices and the cultural environment of the financial market of study. Common knowledge exams Foundation level Exam Format: multiple choice, calculation, discursive and short essay questions.
Final level Exam Format: full and minicase study questions and indepth essay.
National / Regional exam The national examination is set by individual national/regional societies and examines knowledge of specific markets. The courses covered are the legal, regulation, taxation, local market practices and the cultural environment of the financial market of study.
CIS graduates and members are exempted from the foundation level and the national examinations and are only required to take the final examination level.
